Transfer report: Manchester City and Manchester United on alert with Douglas Costa’s Juventus switch on the rocks

Manchester City and Manchester United target Douglas Costa could be back on the market with his move to Juventus on the verge of collapse.

The Brazilian star had looked set to join the Serie A champions following a mixed season with Bayern Munich, when he started just 14 games.

However, according to Bild, Juve are about to pull out of the deal completely because they are not allowed to acquire more than two non-EU players per season.

The Serie A club have already signed Uruguayan Rodrigo Bentancur and are also hoping to land Real Madrid's Brazilian defender Danilo.

That will leave his compatriot Costa out in the cold, which could allow either City or United to reignite their interest in the 26-year-old schemer.
