talkSPORT takes a look at the players Tottenham could have been scouting in Spain

Spotted: Three players Tottenham may have been watching in Spain

Tottenham are in need of a further injection of quality this summer, and it appears the club have been busy scouting potential targets in the Spanish city of Bilbao.

Basque paper Deia say a Spurs scout was at the San Mames watching Athletic beat Malaga 3-0 on Monday, but just who are the three players they were looking at? talkSPORT reveals all…

Name: Iker Muniain
Age: 21
Position: Winger

Readers may be familiar with Muniain from his excellent displays in the 2011/12 Europa League campaign, which included a goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford. The youngster experienced something of a difficult season last year, but this year he has returned to his strong form of old, scoring against the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. With electric pace, good technique, a decent shot and at 21 years old he is only likely to improve, so it’s easy to see the attraction for Spurs.

Name: Aymeric Laporte
Age: 19
Position: Centre-back

One of the most outstanding young defenders in Spain, Aymeric Laporte has made an admirable step up to become the boss of the Athletic back four this season, playing virtually every game for Los Leones. Quick, powerful, intelligent and technically sound, the defender has an excellent left foot but is also happy playing the ball on his weaker right side. Touted with a big future as a France international.

Name: Ander Herrera
Age: 24
Position: Midfielder

Perhaps best known in Britain for Manchester United’s farcical attempts to sign him last summer, Ander Herrera is having an excellent season in the red and white shirt, with six assists and three goals to his name in the league. Comfortable playing either as a number 10, wide in an attacking midfield three, or as a central midfielder, Herrera has been important for Athletic in their push for a Champions League spot.

Spurs fans, could any of these players be worth a bid? Let us know below...
