Ozil ruled out of FA Cup semi-final but Arsenal get Ramsey boost

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is fit and in contention to face Everton on Sunday, Arsene Wenger has revealed.

The Welsh midfielder, who enjoyed a stunning start to the season, has been sidelined since suffering a thigh injury at West Ham on Boxing Day.

His absence has been sorely felt in recent weeks as the Gunners have slipped out of the Premier League title race.

But Ramsey has now returned to training and Wenger hopes to include the 23-year-old in his squad for the crunch clash with Everton at Goodison Park as Arsenal look to take a grip on fourth place.

Nacho Monreal is also fit again after a foot problem, while long-term injury victim Abou Diaby is back in training but still some way off a first-team return.

"Aaron and Nacho Monreal are back training with the squad, so that is good news. Hopefully they will be available for Sunday," said Wenger.

“Diaby is back on the pitches, so that is good news.”

Mesut Ozil, however, continues to be absent with a hamstring injury and Wenger has confirmed he will miss next week's FA Cup semi-final against Wigan at Wembley.

"The FA Cup will be too soon for him, but he will hopefully be back soon after that," said the Frenchman.

Centre-back Laurent Koscielny, meanwhile, may be available for the clash with the Championship side following his calf problem.
