Mauricio Pochettino confirms Alex Pritchard to be part of Tottenham’s first-team squad next season

Mauricio Pochettino will give Alex Pritchard the chance to make his mark for Tottenham next season.

The 22-year-old midfielder starred on loan at Brentford last season, scoring 12 goals in 45 appearances for the Championship club.

Outgoing Bees boss Mark Warburton has tipped Prichard as a future Premier League star, and Pochettino has now confirmed he sees the England Under-21 international as part of his plans.

Harry Kane, Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb all have come through the academy to become regular first-teamers for Spurs in recent season, and Pritchard is in line to follow their lead.

“He is in our plans for next season," Pochettino said.

"He starts pre-season when he gets back from the (Under-21) Euros and we are looking forward to having him back after a successful loan with Brentford."
