Manchester United braced for another approach from Real Madrid for ‘keeper David de Gea

Real Madrid are preparing another bid for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, which is expcted this summer.

United staff believe a bid for the Spain international is imminent, with a fee well in excess of £60million expected for their No 1, according to the Daily Mail

De Gea came very close to joining Real on transfer deadline day in 2015, but the paperwork wasn’t submitted in time - causing embarrassment for both clubs.

He has two years remaining on his current deal and would be open to joining the European champions, but will not force the move through himself.

United are in America for their summer tour, which includes a clash against Real in Santa Clara on July 23.

The two clubs will also face each other in the Super Cup final on August 8.

Boss Jose Mourinho has revealed his team selection plans for the first three tour games, saying: "First match (LA Galaxy), Romero doesn’t play, we play David 45 minutes, the kid (Joel Pereira) 45.

"Second match (Real Salt Lake), David doesn’t play. The kid plays 45 and Romero 45. The third match against Man City, Joel doesn’t play and David and Sergio Romero play 45."

The clash with Real Madrid is the fourth and final match of this part of their US tour.
