DONE DEAL! Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom joins Derby County in permanent move

Derby County have confirmed the signing of defender Andre Wisdom from Liverpool on a four-year deal.

The two clubs had already agreed a fee for the 24-year-old, believed to be in the region of £3million, and were just waiting for the player to return from his summer holiday and complete a medical before making the transfer final.

Wisdom returns to the Rams having spent the 2013/14 season on loan with the Championship club, where he made 38 appearances in an impressive campaign.

But that form was not enough to earn him a regular spot in the Liverpool team, and he was shipped out on loan to Premier League sides West Brom and Norwich, plus Austrian Bundesliga champions Red Bull Salzburg last season.

Wisdom came through Liverpool’s academy and made his debut in September 2012 in the Europa League against the Young Boys.

He went on to make a total of 22 first-team appearances for the Reds, but with it clear he was not in the plans of manager Jurgen Klopp, he has sealed a return to Derby in a permeant deal.
