Arsenal transfer BLOW! Gunners target Nadiem Amiri agrees new Hoffenheim contract

Arsenal look set to miss out on Hoffenheim attacking midfielder Nadiem Amiri, after the 20-year-old agreed a new deal with the Bundesliga side.

Amiri enjoyed an excellent campaign last term, netting twice and grabbing four assists in 33 league appearances.

And his impressive performances led to reports linking the youngster with a move to one of Europe's biggest clubs.

Arsenal were keen on a deal for the midfielder, while Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach also in the hunt.

However, Hoffenheim have successfully resisted their advances and have tied their prized asset down for a further three years.

Amiri, who can also play as a central midfielder and a winger, represented Germany up to under-21 level before deciding to change his allegiance to Afghanistan.
