Alexandre Lacazette 'will not leave Lyon this summer' according to club President Jean-Michel Aulas

Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette unlikely to leave Lyon this summer, says club President

Alexandre Lacazette won't be leaving Lyon this summer according to club President Jean-Michel Aulas, dealing a huge blow to Arsenal's hopes of signing him.

The Gunners have made no secret of their desire to sign the France international and were rejected in their attempts to sign him last summer.

The Ligue 1 outfit want £56million for him, but the club president has now poured water on any deal happening and revealed they remain hopeful of signing Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.

Aulas told Canal Plus: "I do not think that Alexandre Lacazette will leave this summer.

"I do not have anything to say about Olivier Giroud. We're interested. Things haven't advanced."

The Gunners are expected to make a number of signings this summer after boss Arsene Wenger agreed a new two-year deal towards the end of last season.

Monaco Starlet Kylian Mbappe and Manchester United’s Anthony Martial are two players they are targeting, but may be hamstrung by lack of Champions League football.
