Arsenal and Chelsea target Kostas Manolas set to stay at Roma by penning new contract

Kostas Manolas is ready to end any talk of him joining Arsenal or Chelsea by penning a new contract with Roma.

The defender has been heavily linked with a move this summer as talks over fresh terms stalled.

The Greece international's current deal expires in June 2019 and it had been reported Roma were ready to cash in on him now for maximum profit, with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Inter Milan keen.

But now, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, a move away is off the table as Manolas is set to sign a new contract.

The 25-year-old will reportedly put pen to paper on a long-term deal that will cause his wage to go up from £33,000-a-week to just over £50,000-a-week.
