Confirmed: Man Utd lineup vs Swansea

Manchester United will be looking to make it two wins from two this lunchtime when we travel to Swansea City.

Our 4-0 hammering of West Ham saw us end the opening weekend top of the Premier League whilst today’s hosts were held 0-0 at Southampton without a single shot on target.

For the second week in a row we have a favourable list of absentees as Swansea are without last season’s top scorer Fernando Llorente and midfielder Ki Sung-yeung whilst they sold their star player, Gylfi Sigurdsson, midweek.

The two teams for today’s game have been confirmed as:

Manchester United

David de Gea; Antonio Valencia, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Daley Blind; Nemanja Mativ, Paul Pogba; Juan Mata, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcus Rashford; Romelu Lukaku

Substitutes: Sergio Romero, Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling, Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial

We’re unchanged from last weekend and Victor Lindelof could made his Premier League debut as he has been named among the substitutes.

Marcus Rashford goes up against Kyle Naughton whilst Juan Mata will be looking to get the better of Martin Olsson down the right wing.  The positioning and movement of Henrikh Mkhitaryan will hopefully cause confusion between the central defence and holding midfielders.  I have not see Roque Mesa before but I don’t believe the other two central midfielders are great at picking up attacking midfielders.

Swansea City

Lukasz Fabianski; Kyle Naughton, Federico Fernandez, Kyle Bartley, Alfie Mawson, Martin Olsson; Roque Mesa, Tom Carroll, Leroy Fer; Jordan Ayew, Tammy Abraham

Substitutes: Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Àngel Rangel, Mike van der Hoorn, Jay Fulton, Luciano Narsingh, Wayne Routledge, Oliver McBurnie

It looks as the hosts will go with a 3-5-2 formation which will convert into a 5-3-2 when we’re on the attack.  Kyle Naughton and Martin Olsson are the wingbacks whilst Federico Fernandez, Kyle Bartley and Alfie Mawson are all in the middle of the defence.

Jordan Ayew and Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham start up top.
