Jose Mourinho has praised Paul Pogba for his reaction to being dropped for Manchester United’s win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The France midfielder was criticised by Mourinho on the touchline during United’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham last Wednesday and was brought off after just 63 minutes.

Pogba was subsequently named as a substitute for United’s clash against Huddersfield but was brought on in the second half as Mourinho’s side registered a 2-0 victory with goals from Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.

When asked how Pogba reacted to being named as a substitute, Mourinho replied: ‘The reaction you saw – coming to the pitch with great desire to play.

‘To be honest, at half-time he was already, because I can analyse body language, showing that he was ready.

‘Ready with physio, he was already starting his warming up, so I think he showed the way he took it in a very professional way.’
