Jose Mourinho insists Manchester United will not sign Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri before the end of the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old has been linked with both United and Manchester City and has a £35 million release clause in his contract with the Ligue 1 club.

But Mourinho is adamant that Alexis Sanchez will be his only signing this month and has revealed that United’s transfer activity in the summer will be minimal.

Asked if United will make a move for Seri, Mourinho replied: ‘No.’

And when asked if he is interested in Seri, the United boss said: ‘I don’t speak about players.’

Mourinho also stressed that United will not make any more signing this month: ‘Us? No.

‘Tuanzebe goes on loan and nobody is leaving, nobody is coming.

‘Our transfer market in the summer will be short.’
