Liverpool forwards Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino look certain to start against Stoke this week.
The pair were surprisingly named on the bench for the 1-1 draw with Chelsea at the weekend. Jurgen Klopp looked to be keeping them fresh amid a crammed fixture schedule.
It seems they will now return to that starting line-up.
‘It made sense at this part of the season to use the strength of the squad,’ Klopp said ahead of Wednesday’s match. ‘It’s not completely unlikely they will start [against Stoke].’
Klopp also provided an update on his crocked players, with defender Dejan Lovren closing on a return to action and midfielder Emre Can available.
’[Lovren] It’s not a big thing, swelling. He will try to run.
‘Emre’s back for the squad.’

Asked if he would be tempted to rest players again on Wednesday, with a game against Brighton on Saturday, Klopp said it was about keeping his team fresh.
‘We don’t rest, we use other players. That [rest] was not the reason against Chelsea, we wanted to have fresh legs. I thought it worked quite well.’
