Arsenal’s backroom reshuffle is continuing at pace and they are expected to announce the arrival of former Barcelona director of football Raul Sanllehi imminently, according to reports.

The Gunners are in the process of overhauling their recruitment team and managed to prise renowned talent spotter Sven Mislintat away from Borussia Dortmund this week.

But not content with appointing a scout who unearthed the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Shinji Kagawa, now the Gunners hope to announce the arrival of the man who brought Neymar to Barcelona.

According to Goal.com, Arsenal have won the race to land Sanllehi who will be given the title of head of football operations at the Emirates, essentially replacing transfer negotiator Dick Law.

While Mislintat’s forte is identifying and spotting talent – he’s so good at it he was nicknamed ‘diamond eye’ back in Germany – Sanllehi’s role is much more about negotiating and closing deals.

The pair have both been identified primarily by chief executive Ivan Gazidis, who has been keen to overhaul and update Arsenal’s approach to recruitment for some time.

Wenger has long been against a director of football being appointed at the club, but Mislintat and Sanllehi – who had been linked with Manchester City – will fulfil much the same role and hint at life after Wenger.

Gazidis has been trying to reduce Arsenal’s dependence on the veteran French coach, while there have been other backroom additions too: Huss Fahmy specialises in contracts and negotiations, while Darren Burgess is head of high performance.
