Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes Mohamed Salah’s scoring record could be even better this season.

The Egyptian’s scored 12 goals in 17 appearances for the Reds since his £36million move from Roma last summer.

The 25-year-old’s been one of the best arrivals to the Premier League this season and has been Liverpool’s go-to man in Sadio Mane’s absence.

Salah is Liverpool’s top scorer already this term but Klopp’s challenged him to improve in front of goal.

‘He could have scored even more,’ said Klopp.

‘He’s a fantastic player and can still improve.’

Liverpool host Southampton at Anfield today and could face transfer target Virgil Van Dijk.

The Reds were forced to make a public apology to the Saints last summer over their pursuit of the Dutchman but could well move for him again in January.
