France manager Didier Deschamps has weighed in on speculation linking Jose Mourinho with Paris St Germain.

Reports have linked the Manchester United manager with making a sensational switch to the mega-rich Ligue 1 outfit. It’s suggested his agents have held talks with PSG about him replacing unfancied current manager Unai Emery.

Mourinho himself fuelled talk earlier this year when he spoke in glowing terms about the club.

‘At the moment in Paris there is something special. Magic, quality, youth, it’s fantastic,’ said the former Porto, Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss.

Deschamps believes Mourinho coming to PSG is a real possibility, believing the Portuguese coach’s record of managing clubs across the continent suggests he would be open to the move.

‘Jose Mourinho, why not?’ said the former Chelsea midfielder. ‘He’s pretty happy at Manchester United at the moment. But he’s a bit of a globetrotter. So why not in France too? He has not been to France yet.

‘PSG are the most stand-out team in France. They are doing well nationally and in the Champions League.’

Mourinho joined Manchester United in the summer of 2016 on a three-year contract and delivered the Europa League and League Cup in his first year in charge.
