Arsene Wenger admits both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez could leave Arsenal in January amid speculation Manchester United are interested in the duo.

Both Ozil and Sanchez are out of contract at the Emirates next summer but talks over new deals have stalled, putting a number of top European sides on red alert ahead of the January transfer window.

While maintaining that the pair appear happy in north London, Wenger conceded that ‘it’s possible’ either could move on in the new year.

On Ozil’s future, Wenger told the media: ‘It is my understanding [that he wants to stay]. I hope the situation can be turned around.

‘At the moment, we are not close enough to announce anything.’

‘It is possible.’
