Sergio Aguero has returned to training with Manchester City after breaking his rib in a car crash before the international break.

The Argentine striker missed City’s 1-0 victory over Chelsea on September 30 after being involved in a car crash in Amsterdam less than 48 hours before the game.

Aguero, who was on his way home to Manchester after attending a concert, suffered a fractured rib as his taxi crashed into a metal pole en route to Amsterdam airport.

But the 29-year-old took part in a light training session with physios on Tuesday.

Last week, Argentina’s team doctor Donato Villani claimed he would be sidelined for around six weeks with his injuries.

‘He’s going to be off the pitch for a month and a half,’ he said.

‘He can’t move in his house, nor get in and out of the car. He seemed very down to me because we wanted to be here.’

But Aguero’s participation in training suggests that he could be available sooner than anticipated.
