Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to step-up his return from a long-term knee injury by returning to the club’s training ground each day for his rehabilitation.

The Swede was released in July after rupturing his cruciate ligament after a nasty fall against Anderlecht in the Europa League in April.

However, United handed Ibrahimovic a new one-year deal in August after being impressed with his recovery and the 36-year-old hopes to return in December.

Ibrahimovic has spent part of his rehabilitation in Manchester but has also been back in his native Sweden recovering.

However, according to ESPN, the Swede is set to step-up his training by visiting United’s training ground on a daily basis from November in a bid to get fit again.

Andy Cole posted a photo with Ibrahimovic from United’s training base on Thursday and the forward has been seen more regularly in the north-west in recent weeks.

Ibrahimovic’s replacement, Romelu Lukaku, has certainly grasped his opportunity by scoring 11 goals in ten appearances for the Red Devils since his move from Everton.
