The Arsenal squad are reportedly fuming with star duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez after the pair failed to turn up for a club engagement.

The pair were required to attend an event on September 21st, a day after the Gunners’ 1-0 win against Doncaster in the League Cup in which Sanchez managed to play 90 minutes.

However, the duo missed the engagement because they were ‘ill’ but their absence was recognised by their team-mates, according to the Evening Standard.

A number of injured Arsenal stars managed to make it to the event and the fact Sanchez and Ozil were not there will only increase speculation that they’re set to leave at the end of the season.

The duo are both out of contract in 2018 and Arsenal have made little progress in getting them to sign new deals.

Manchester City are keen on signing Sanchez, while Manchester United are believed to be keen on signing Ozil.

Sanchez clashed with team-mates last March and was confronted by Laurent Koscielny after storming out of training.

The Chilean was desperate to move to the Etihad but Arsenal failed to find a replacement and he is likely to leave on a free next summer.
