Arsenal have made an approach to sign Marseille wonderkid Christopher Rocchia, according to reports in France.

Rocchia is considered one of Marseille’s top prospects but the 19-year-old left-back is being heavily linked with a move away as he is out of contract at the Orange Velodrome next summer.

It’s understood Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc is expressing a strong interest in the teenager but the Bundesliga giants could come up against competition from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

French outlet Foot Mercato suggest Arsenal’s chief French scout Gilles Grimandi is in talks with Rocchia’s entourage over the availability of the promising defender.

It’s claimed the Gunners are weighing up an offer for Rocchia, despite Arsene Wenger already landing left-back Sead Kolasinac ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

The youngster is open to the idea of a move to England or Germany.

Marseille have offered Rocchia a bumper new contract to remain at the club but the full-back is yet to sign the deal.
