Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United’s hopes of signing Renato Sanches on loan are under threat by Swansea.

The Welsh outfit have emerged as an unlikely destination for the unwanted Bayern Munich forward.

It’s expected Sanches will head out on loan this season having failed to make an impact since his £27.5million arrival at the Allianz Arena last summer. Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti said last week he would have ‘no problem’ if the 20-year-old were to leave.

Jose Mourinho said he would have moved for him had he been appointed earlier at Manchester United. ‘Everyone knows I would like a fourth player and I cannot hide that because I had that in my mind,’ Mourinho said last week.

Meanwhile Liverpool and Chelsea’s desire to bolster their respective squads before the close of the transfer window is well known.

But they may have to look elsewhere if Swansea get their way. Manager Paul Clement worked with Sanches at Bayern Munich before being appointed at the Liberty Stadium midway through last season. That, coupled with his relationship with Ancelotti, could sway a deal in their favour.

Sanches meanwhile has expressed a desire to be playing regularly – something Swansea could guarantee but the others may struggle to provide.
