Manchester United are keen on signing Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon but fear the ‘London factor’ will see Tottenham win the race for his signature.

The 17-year-old burst onto the scene last season and made 25 appearances for the Cottagers in the Championship.

Mourinho has been keen to add to his squad in wide areas and United are attracted by Sessegnong’s tactical flexibility.

The England U19 international can play at left-back and left-wing but United face competition from Tottenham for the teenager.

According to ESPN, United could move for Sessengnon in the last days of the transfer window but there’s a sense that the youngster would prefer to stay in London.

That would hand a huge advantage to Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who have a long-term interest in the full-back.

Spurs ace Danny Rose has been linked with an exit from the club since an explosive interview in which he criticised Tottenham’s wage structure.

Chelsea and Manchester United have both expressed interest in the England international but Sessegnon represents a cheaper, albeit more inexperienced, alternative to Rose.
