Ex-Manchester United captain Gary Neville has slammed Danny Rose on Twitter after the defender gave an explosive interview in which he attacked Tottenham.

Rose, 27, gave a stunning interview to the Sun where he claimed he was underpaid, would consider bids from rival clubs and said Spurs should sign players he ‘doesn’t need to Google’.

The England international has been heavily linked with Chelsea and Manchester United in recent weeks and the timing of the interview is likely to add pressure to Mauricio Pochettino’s task of adding players to his squad this summer.

Rose’s interview has split many people but Neville was quick to criticise the defender on Twitter.

‘WTF is Danny Rose thinking!!,’ said Neville.

‘Imagine walking into the training ground having not been fit for months and months. Morning lads!’.

Rose currently earns around £65,000-a-week but knows he could double his wages at the likes of Manchester City or Manchester United.

The defender’s been injured since February and says his time on the sidelines has given him time to reflect.

‘Being injured has harmed me on and off the field in a lot of ways,’ said Rose.

‘When you’re injured you get a lot of time to think and I’ve had a lot of ‘what if?’ moments. It’s been hard to deal with.

‘One thing is for sure — I know my worth and I will make sure I get what I am worth.

‘I am not playing as well as I have done not to get paid what I think I am worth.’
