Andreas Pereira has returned to Manchester United intent on breaking into Jose Mourinho’s first-team after a year on loan at Granada.

The 21-year-old midfielder impressed in Spain, despite Granada’s relegation from La Liga, and has sent a message to Mourinho with his performances in training during the Red Devils’ pre-season tour of the United States.

Mourinho brought Pereira on for the second-half of United’s 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake and the Portuguese starlet, wearing the No. 15 shirt, looked at home alongside the likes of Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.

And, ahead of the side’s much-anticipated clash with Manchester City, the youngster hinted on Twitter that he will be wearing the No.15 shirt – switching from the No.44 shirt – at Old Trafford next season.

Nemanja Vidic famously wore the number for nine seasons at United before Adnan Januzaj took over last season.

However, Januzaj’s move to Real Sociedad earlier this month, the 22-year-old signing a five-year contract with the Spanish outfit, has left the number vacant ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

Jesper Blomqvist, Luke Chadwick and Kleberson are among the other players to don the No.15 shirt at Old Trafford in recent times.
