Arsenal have tabled an offer for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Aymen Barkok, according to reports in Germany.

The 19-year-old is currently representing Germany at the European Under-19 Championship and Spox claims that the Gunners have submitted an offer just under €10 million (£8.8m).

The report also claims that Arsene Wenger has been monitoring Barkok’s progress for some time and even tried to sign the midfielder last year.

Barkok made 19 appearances for Frankfurt last season, scoring two goals and registering two assists.

Spox also claim that Barkok has attracted interest from clubs in the Bundesliga following his impressive performances last season.

Barkok, who only made his senior debut in November, still has three years left on his contract with Frankfurt.
