Arsenal are expressing a strong interest in Monaco midfielder Fabinho this summer, according to reports in France.

Fabinho, 23, has spent four seasons with Monaco but the side’s title-winning season in Ligue 1 has seen a number of their top players linked with big-money moves away from the Stade Louis II ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

Manchester United have been keeping close tabs on Fabinho’s situation at Monaco for much of the summer and Paris Saint-Germain have emerged as favourites to land the versatile Brazil midfielder.

France Football suggest that Arsenal are also keeping informed about Fabinho, with Arsene Wenger considering a move for a top-class midfielder in the coming months.

However, it’s claimed that the north London club are yet to follow up on their interest, with Monaco determined to hold on to their prized possession.

United boss Jose Mourinho has turned his attention away from the Brazilian in recent weeks and is looking closer to home for midfield reinforcements.

It’s understood Chelsea star Nemanja Matic could be set for a move to Old Trafford in a £35million move.
