The agents of Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin have reportedly begun negotiations to get the Spaniard a transfer back to his old club Barcelona this summer.

The 22-year-old is keen to return to the Nou Camp and make a name for himself at the club he left for the Gunners earlier in his career, having benefited from developing in Arsene Wenger’s first-team.

Barca also need a new signing at right-back this summer as new manager Ernesto Valverde looks for a long-term replacement for club legend Dani Alves, who left last summer.

Aleix Vidal and Sergi Roberto filled in there last season but don’t look ideal, with Bellerin certainly showing with his form in England that he could be a major upgrade.

According to Sport, Bellerin is now focusing on getting his dream move to Barcelona after finishing the European Under-21 Championships with Spain, and is ready to do what he has to to force his club to let him go.

Arsenal have been in this situation before with Cesc Fabregas, who also pushed to rejoin the Catalan giants after a spell in north London in 2011, and the departure of Bellerin would be another big blow.

The Spain international recently tweeted telling fans not to believe everything they read, but it seems the transfer saga has not ended there as speculation continues to grow that he wants to leave the Emirates Stadium.

Hector Bellerin | Will he leave Arsenal?

Wenger on Bellerin: ‘No (he will not joining Barcelona). We have just extended his contract and he has an unbelievable amount of years to go.’

Bellerin on Wenger: ‘The loyalty to this person (Wenger) is worth more than money, it’s something very important to me. That he’s there carries a lot of weight for me. Any player would be flattered by interest from Barca. It’s the best club in the world and that is very nice. When I left Barca my idea was not to return, because my exit was a little complicated.’

It was recently reported that Barcelona had set themselves a ten-day deadline to get a response from Arsenal over a fee for the player, with the Gunners understandably keen to avoid selling at all costs.

Manager Arsene Wenger also faces the real possibility of losing Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.
