Jose Mourinho has highlighted Marcus Rashford’s lack of goals as an example of Manchester United’s lack of consistency in attack.

United stumbled to a goalless draw against West Brom on Saturday, leaving them four points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City.

Mourinho’s men created plenty of chances but lacked the finishing touch at Old Trafford, and the United manager has pointed to Rashford’s last Premier League goal, which came in September, as an example of his problems in attack.

‘The reality is that we have no consistency in the last third,’ Mourinho told talkSPORT.

‘We are very solid – we defend very well – we create a lot, but then we don’t have consistency in the last third.

‘We don’t score enough goals for our attacking appetite, our attacking philosophy.

‘And Marcus is one example of this. The last goal he scored in the Premier League was in September.’
