Arsenal’s official Twitter account suffered a rather unfortunate gaffe during the team’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday – when a typo completely changed the club’s description of Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s shot.

With the score goalless in Germany, Mkhitaryan went for goal just after the half hour mark when he shifted the ball onto his left foot before driving a shot wide.

With Arsenal providing minute-by-minute updates of the game on Twitter, the club’s match reporter posted a tweet describing the Dortmund midfielder’s effort – but instead of writing ‘shifts’, the person in question left out the letter ‘f’, which produced a rather comical different account of the chance.

Despite keen eyes noticing the unfortunate mistake, the journalist was quick enough to save The Gunners’ reputation by deleting and re-posting the message with a correction.
