Jose Mourinho says referee Chris Foy should not be allowed to take charge of another Chelsea game, following the dismissals of Willian, Ramires and Mourinho himself during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

The Brazilian duo both received second-half red cards at Villa Park, before the Blues boss was sent to the stands in added time after Fabian Delph’s 82nd-minute winner.

And now the Portuguese, who tried unsuccessfully to speak with Foy after the encounter, says referee chiefs should carefully consider whether to allow him to officiate future Chelsea games.

‘Maybe it’s helpful that the [Premier League referees’] committee doesn’t send him [Foy] to our matches,’ said Mourinho.

‘I don’t have the right to request [that]. It’s just I think they have to analyse the situation and see if every time he has Chelsea – or not every time – but many times he has Chelsea and problems are there, I think maybe it would be a good decision.’

In the 2011/12 season, Foy also gave two Chelsea players their marching orders in a game against QPR, dismissing both Jose Bosingwa and Didier Drogba, and has sent off a total of six Blues players in eight matches.

And Mourinho admits Foy’s past history with the club was on his players’ minds in the build-up to Saturday’s game.

‘The players were speaking about it during the week,’ he said. ‘They have a reason.

‘I never care who the ref is. I don’t want to know. But during the week the players were speaking about the situation and I think from now on the next time we have Mr Foy I have to work my people in a different way.’
