Not going anywhere: Wesley Sneijder has vowed to stay put (Picture: Getty)

Wesley Sneijder has ruled out a move to Chelsea this summer by pledging his future to Galatasaray.

Sneijder, 29, has been increasingly linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks after he admitted he remains in regular contact with new Blues boss Jose Mourinho.

But despite the comments and Galatasaray announcing that they would sell the player for £15million, Sneijder insists he wants to remain in Turkey.

‘I moved here for a new culture and to get to know a new culture, and I can’t forget that,’ said Sneijder.

‘I have a good relationship with Mourinho and enjoyed working with them, but I love Istanbul and I owe a lot to Galatasaray.’

It is thought that Chelsea will now turn their attention to wrapping up a deal for Sneijder’s compatriot Marco van Ginkel of Vitesse Arnhem.

Van Ginkel has already been hailed ‘the new Wesley Sneijder’ in the Dutch press and the Blues are believe to be pressing ahead with a £10million deal.
