Manchester City vs. West Bromwich Albion, Premier League 2017: What to watch for

Three talking points ahead of a crucial match for the Sky Blues

As the race for the Champions League reaches its final week, Manchester City host West Bromwich Albion at the Etihad looking for three points that will go a long way in securing a Top 4 finish. Facing Albion is never easy, but who said it was easy?

Here are three things to watch for when the game takes place on Tuesday:

Kun for the Record?

Sergio Agüero needs just two goals in the final two games to join a rare group: players who have scored 20+ goals in three consecutive Premier League seasons. Only four players have ever done it: Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer, Ruud Van Nilsterooy and Harry Kane. Good company, right? Yeah. Agüero got two goals when these teams faced off at the Hawthorns earlier this season, and another double will give El Kun a huge accomplishment.

Stubborn Tony

It's really frustrating having to watch your team facing a Tony Pulis side, especially when your team really needs a victory. Chelsea fans had to wait 80 minutes to watch their team get the title-winning goal last Friday, and Albion will be looking to go beyond 80 minutes and actually get a shocking clean sheet at the Etihad. Pulis will plan to sit deep and hurt City on set pieces, and we'll probably have a really nervous game on Tuesday.

Only Three Points Matter

Pep Guardiola wants his teams to play well, but even Pep knows that the only thing that matters against Albion is three points, regardless of the performance. Liverpool and Arsenal can still rob City of their Top 4 place, and West Brom provide the last hurdle in the track for Champions League football. City need to jump it, one way or another.

Just get the win, lads. Thanks.
