Was the Manchester Derby Bravo's last game in a City shirt?

While Manchester City couldn't break down Manchester United, the good news out of Thursday's Manchester Derby was that Claudio Bravo was actually pretty good! While the Chilean wasn't busy, he made a good save when called upon and kept the clean sheet for his team.

The bad news for Bravo is that the Manchester Derby may be his last ever match for the Sky Blues. That is because Claudio injured his calf after an awkward fall when he went to catch a United cross, and Pep Guardiola is not optimistic about Bravo's chances of playing again this season.

“I haven’t spoken to the doctor but it looks like the calf. We will know more tomorrow. He has an injury and looks like it could be a few games but we will have to see.”

There are only three weeks left in the season and City have five games to play, and reports in Spain claim Bravo's injury will sideline him for three weeks. The Chilean should be fit to play the Confederation's Cup with his national team in Russia, but we won't see him back in club action until next season.

But his club next season might not be City. Bravo's season has clearly been hugely disappointing and Guardiola plans to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Éderson Moraes from Benfica. Joe Hart will be sold, and Bravo might be as well to create the funds for the Éderson signing. Willy Caballero's contract is running out and he's not expected to get an extension.

Current third goalkeeper Angus Gunn will most likely be promoted to Éderson's backup, unless Pep decides to keep Bravo as second keeper, which is a possibility but not a certainty.

One thing's clear: we might have seen Claudio Bravo in a City shirt for the last time. Which isn't exactly the worst thing.
