Inter Milan to move for Benfica ace

Inter Milan are lining up a summer move for Manchester United and Tottenham target Nico Gaitan.

The flying winger has been on United's radar for over a year now, while Spurs have also emerged as contenders to land him at the end of the season.

Benfica signed the Argentina international from Boca Juniors in 2010 as a like-for-like replacement for Angel Di Maria, who left for Real Madrid.

But some think Gaitan has the potential better than his compatriot, after the promise shown in his first two and a half years at the Estadio De Luz.

And now, according to reports in Portugal, Inter Milan want to offer him a chance in Serie A, with officials planning talks with Lisbon officials next week.

It was reported that a fee of around £12m - with fellow winger Ricky Alvarez going in the opposite direction - will be proposed by the San Siro club.

Any such move could spark a bidding war with mega-rich Anzhi Makhachkala also impressed with Gaitan's progress.
