Transfer report: Arsenal target Ricardo Rodriguez closing in on move to AC Milan

AC Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli will fly to Germany this week to tie up a deal for Arsenal target Ricardo Rodriguez.

The left-back is set to leave Wolfsburg this summer after the club slumped to a dismal finish of 16th in the Bundesliga and they face a relegation play-off against Eintracht Braunschweiger to stay up.

Rodriguez will quit no matter what happens in that two-legged tie and it was reported he could join Arsenal.

But now, according to La Stampa, the Switzerland international is closing in on a move to Milan instead.

The Italian club's sporting director, Mirabelli, is flying out to Germany this week to finalise a deal for Rodriguez.

Milan will reportedly shell out around £15m, plus bonuses, for Rodriguez and the player will bank a wage close to £50,000-a-week.
