Transfer news: Sporting Lisbon will NOT rival Liverpool for £8m-rated Hull defender Andrew Robertson

Liverpool have received a boost in their pursuit of Hull full-back Andrew Robertson, according to reports in Portugal.

It has been suggested that the Reds will face stuff competition from Sporting Lisbon for the services of the talented left-back this summer.

But, according to Portuguese newspaper Record, Sporting's search for a left-back does not extend as far as relegated Hull, who are expected to sell Robertson with Championship football on the horizon.

At just 23 and with 57 Premier League appearances to his name, £8m-rated Robertson will be too expensive for the Portuguese club, it has been claimed.

That will seemingly give Liverpool a clear run at the Scotsman, who was one of the best players in the Hull team despite their relegation.
