Transfer news: Ex-Arsenal and Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor set to join Middle East club

Former Arsenal and Tottenham star Emmanuel Adebayor is set to join United Arab Emirates side Al-Wasl.

The 32-year-old has been without a club since the end of last season, when he was released by Crystal Palace.

The stiker was close to joining Olympique Lyonnais, but a move to the French club collapsed at the 11th hour.

Lyon coach Bruno Génésio met with Adebayor last month but opted against signing the Togo international after he expressed his desire to represent his country at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Now, according to L'Equipe, Adebayor is finally set to find a new team after agreeing to link up with Al-Wasl.

The former Manchester City man has reportedly agreed terms with the Middle East club and will sign in the coming days.
