Tottenham target Sandro Ramirez to leave Barcelona for free this summer, confirms Catalan club

Tottenham have been put on alert after Barcelona announced on Monday that Sandro Ramirez will not be offered a new contract.

The forward has been on Tottenham's radar since January once it became clear that his opportunities to make an impact at the Nou Camp were diminishing.

Sandro made just seven starts in all competitions for Barca last season and has accepted he is unlikely to displace the formidable trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez anytime soon.

And now Spurs are ready to land the 20-year-old on a free transfer after Barca technical director Robert Fernandez confirmed that his spell at Barca is over.

"We're going to open the door for Sandro to leave," Fernandez told Barca TV.

"We had a clause which could allow us to extend his contract another year on May 1.

"Last summer, he had many offers to leave and we appreciated his decision to stay and fight."
