Reports: Liverpool and Newcastle miss out on French striker André-Pierre Gignac

Liverpool and Newcastle have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of André-Pierre Gignac after the forward agreed to join Dynamo Moscow, according to reports in France.

The striker's current contract with Marseille expires at the end of the season, meaning he would be available on a free in the summer.

That news had alerted clubs all over Europe, with Liverpool and Newcastle both expressing an interest in the France international.

However, according to La Provence, they have missed out on the 29-year-old to Dynamo Moscow.

The Russian club have been pursuing Gignac since January and have now agreed a move in principal with the striker.

Gignac has been one of Marseille's star performers this season, netting 16 goals in Ligue 1 and helping the side to third in the table.
