Newcastle transfer news: Daryl Janmaat set for St James’ Park exit as Juventus eye £3m deal for defender

Juventus are eyeing a swoop for Newcastle defender Daryl Janmaat, according to reports in Italy.

The Dutchman is eager to find a new club this summer following Newcastle's relegation to the Championship and the club are also keen to sell him. 

Janmaat's displays last season came in for plenty of criticism and there is no intention to keep hold of him even if Rafael Bentiez decides to stay.

According to Tuttosport, Juve are weighing up whether to make a bid for the 26-year-old, who could be available in a cut-price deal as Newcastle try to free up their wage ball.

Janmaat signed for Newcastle from Feyenoord in 2014 for £5m but Newcastle could be willing to part with the right-back for as little as £3m.
