Mourinho refuses to let wantaway Chelsea star leave on the cheap

Chelsea will not sell Belgium midfielder Kevin De Bruyne on the cheap, according to manager Jose Mourinho.

talkSPORT told you on the Thursday that the Blues had placed a £25m price-tag on the winger amid strong interest from Wolfsburg.

A host of other German sides, including Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach, are also on his trail.

Mourinho has confirmed De Bruyne's desire to leave but says any interested parties will have to dig deep to prise him away from Stamford Bridge.

He said: "He fancies a move but he is a fantastic player and fantastic players are very expensive. If others think they can get our players on sales - the sales in London finished yesterday."

De Bruyne has barely featured for Chelsea this season and Mourinho has suggested the 22-year-old has struggled to adapt to life at a "big club".

He said: "Kevin didn't adapt very well to the different life a Chelsea player has. Oscar, Mata, Willian have a beautiful different life at Chelsea. They pay a big price. They have to give and work a lot.

"Kevin is a different personality, very important for Genk and for Werder Bremen. He's now for the first time at a big club with big competition."
