Mourinho denies Chelsea have made a bid for Higuain

Jose Mourinho has denied reports Chelsea have made a bid for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Mourinho, who knows Higuain from their time together at Real Madrid, has been tipped to move for the Argentina striker as his three forwards at Stamford Bridge - Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba - have struck just seven Premier League goals between them this season.

However, the Portuguese manager has refuted suggestions he's made an offer for Higuain, claiming Napoli have no intention of selling the player they bought from Real Madrid in the summer.

He said: "No bid [for Higuain]. He is a player I know we cannot get as he moved to Napoli six months ago. Napoli do not sell, they sell one player a year.

"They want to win the Scudetto. I think they want to win the Europa League. I don't believe they are interested in selling so why should we be interested in a player who is impossible to come?
