Man United transfer news: The defensive signing answer to Van Gaal’s prayers?

Man United's defence was lambasted again following a 5-3 mauling by Leicester.

Having led 3-1, the defence collapsed and Nigel Pearson's men ran riot. Since Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra all left, the club lack someone to keep order at the back. It is thought midfield enforcer Kevin Strootman will be targeted, but it's also likely manager Louis van Gaal will scour the transfer market in January to bolster his defence.
