Man United line-up against Hull: Academy star to get his big chance?

Louis Van Gaal faces yet another tough selection as Manchester United look to make it three wins in a row for the first time in nearly a year against Hull City.

South American duo Radamel Falcao and Marcos Rojo could both feature after returning to training this week, while Luke Shaw will be out for weeks rather than months after Van Gaal confirmed there were no serious complications with ankle ligament damage sustained.

The Dutchman reverted to 3-5-2 for the trip to Arsenal last weekend and United picked up one of their best results of the season.

Here's how Man United could line up against Hull:

Goalkeeper
David de Gea produced a brilliant first-half stop to deny Jack Wilshere last week which provided the platform for United's victory at the Emirates. The Spain international will continue between the sticks.

Defence
United's defence was dealt a blow early on against Arsenal with Luke Shaw forced off but the much maligned Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young all excelled and should retain their places.

The absence of Shaw and Rojo means United will probably stick to a three-man defence and Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett, two of the bright sparks for United so far this season, are both accustomed to the system.

Midfield
With the game against Stoke to follow on Tuesday, Van Gaal may want to manage his squad and it could prompt either Marouane Fellani or Michael Carrick to drop out for Ander Herrera.

Alternatively, Herrera and Juan Mata could be saved for the visit of Mark Hughes' side next week.

Angel Di Maria displayed at the Emirates how dangerous he is through the middle and he should continue in that position.

Attack
Van Persie remains a dilemma and it might be time to take him out of the firing line and Wayne Rooney deserves to start where he is at his most effective alongside rising star James Wilson.

Van Gaal confirmed the 18-year-old has been “knocking on the door” and his performances for the Reserves suggest his deserves his opportunity over the misfiring Dutchman.

Falcao is also back in contention, but the Colombian will likely start from the bench with a view towards Tuesday's game.
