Man United eyeing ‘two or three’ more signings, claims Ogden

Daily Telegraph journalist Mark Ogden believes Manchester United will make ‘two or three’ more signings ahead of the Premier League season.

The Red Devils have lost Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra this summer, with more expected to leave Old Trafford following Louis van Gaal’s appointment.

Luis Nani, Anderson, Shinji Kagawa, Ashley Young, Tom Cleverley and Wilfried Zaha are all playing for their futures as the Dutchman weighs up his squad for the forthcoming season.

United have already agreed deals for Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw and Ogden claims there will more new faces at the 19-times league champions.

“I’m convinced, by the start of the season, there will be two or three more signings at Man United,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show. “There has to be.

“They have three centre-halves and none of them are particularly experienced. They have lost Michael Carrick to injury and they really need at least two midfielders.

“Louis van Gaal will give it two or three weeks, assess what he’s got, and then, by the start of the season, there will be two or three more signings.”
