Leicester City FC transfer news: Foxes target Jonathan Cafu sets sights on Sporting Lisbon move

Leicester's pursuit of Jonathan Cafu has taken a blow after he revealed he's hopeful of joining Sporting Lisbon.

The 25-year-old Ludogorets winger was a target for the Premier League champions in January and is said to remain on their radar.

After 10 goals in 24 league outings for the Bulgarian club, Cafu is ready to seek a fresh challenge and Leicester appeared set to hand him a shot at English football.

But now it appears that another club linked with a move for him, Sporting Lisbon, have gained the upper hand.

Cafu told Record: "I have a contract with Ludogorets, but I do not rule out the possibility of going to Sporting.

"It's a team that plays in the Champions League and is in a Championship better and more visible than the Bulgarian.

"If I go to Sporting, I will be very happy and hope to demonstrate good football."
