Graham Hunter on Karim Benzema’s future amid links to Arsenal and Liverpool

Graham Hunter, talkSPORT's Spanish football expert, discusses Real Madrid's purchase of World Cup sensation James Rodriguez.

The Colombian's £63million arrival has led to speculation Karim Benzema could be on his way out of the Bernabeu, with Liverpool and Arsenal among a host of clubs linked with the French forward.

Hunter, however, insists Rodriguez will not take Benzema's place and claims the Frenchman is still set to be a key part of Carlo Ancelotti's team.

"Benzema is in the process of  renewing his contract. It hasn't been done yet, but it is very clear that Real Madrid see him as their principle striker," Hunter said, speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.

"They don't see James Rodriguez as a centre-forward, they see him as a guy who can unlock the three fabulous talents from last season, Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale."
