Former Arsenal and Watford man closing in on Serie A switch

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is set to resume his career with Italian club Cagliari.

Almunia, 37, has been a free agent since being released by Watford earlier this summer.

And now, according to sources in Italy, the Spaniard is on the verge of completing a move to Serie A side Cagliari.

Almunia spent eight years at Arsenal between 2004 and 2012 before joining Watford, where he made 79 league appearances in two seasons.
