DONE DEAL! Watford sign England Under-21 star Will Hughes from Derby County

Watford have confirmed the signing of England Under-21 international Will Hughes from Championship side Derby County.

The 22-year-old midfielder has penned a five-year contract at Vicarage Road.

Hughes has been linked with a host of Premier League teams over the past few years and has now chosen to join Watford - arriving at the Hertfordshire club for an undisclosed fee.

The youngster’s experience belies his tender years - Hughes has 21 caps for England at Under-21 level, and is currently with the Young Lions at the European U21 Championships in Poland, where they are through to the semi-finals.

Hughes has also racked up close to 190 appearances for Derby, where he moved as a 16-year-old in 2011, making his first-team debut the same year.

Watford say the playmaker will complete the move when he returns from Poland, subject to completion of medical tests, with England Under-21s waiting to find out their semi-final opponents at Euro 2017.
